Suicide Survivors Fund expands reach in Marquette County
Upper Michigan Today continues the conversation about suicide awareness, prevention, and postvention.

MARQUETTE, Mich. (WLUC) - Talking about suicide isn’t easy, but it’s necessary.
Dave Aro started the Suicide Survivors Fund out of necessity when his friend died three and a half years ago.
Just last year, the fund helped 10 families in Marquette County with expenses related to a sudden suicide.
Six Feet Over is a nonprofit based in Detroit that collaborates with the Suicide Survivors Fund to provide additional assistance to those impacted by suicide in Marquette County.
Katie Hardy is the founder and executive director of Six Feet Over.
Today, she’s giving a presentation to Westwood High School to talk about suicide, mental health resources, and postvention services.
This is part of the school’s Grief and Loss Curriculum Writing Project.
Six Feet Over needs donations to continue its impactful work.
