Deertrack Bowhunters club to host archery range open house

SANDS TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WLUC) - An archery club is inviting the public to check out its outdoor range this weekend.

The Deertrack Bowhunter club opened its Outdoor Archery Range in Sands Township about three years ago after being in Marquette for nearly 70 years. People can tour its 14-target 3D and field archery range at the club’s open house on Saturday. Visitors can walk the range, meet club members and learn about membership.

The club says it’s had a hard time getting its members back after moving locations.

“Membership hasn’t really translated from the old range to the new range,” Deertrack Bowhunters Club Member Larry Lewis said. “However, we think some of that is just people not being aware of the location and what’s really available here.”

The open house is this Saturday from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Deertrack Bowhunters Outdoor Archery Range.

It’s located on County Road 553 between UPAWS and the Marquette County Fairgrounds.
