Yooper Game Con returns for 2026 with a new location

ISHPEMING, Mich. (WLUC) - Video game fans, take note: Yooper Game Con is back and in a new location.

This year it’s being held at the Mining Heritage Pavilion by the Cliffs Shaft Mining Museum in Ishpeming. The event features video games, board games, and tabletop RPGs. You can try out new games and compete in tournament play.

This event also looks to connect gaming and faith.

“We use video games as an evangelism tool,” said Yooper Game Con Organizer Brad Werling. “I have a degree in youth ministries, and I reached out to the video game subculture and found out they were kind of ignored by the church, or they were just misunderstood.”.

Yooper Game Con begins at 11 a.m. on Saturday. It is free to attend.
