Flying Moose Cafe opens in library
More than a year after it closed, the café at Peter White Public Library is open again. The Flying Moose Café’s second location opened Wednesday just outside the library’s children’s section.
The café offers grab-and-go items, including soup, salads and sandwiches. Like the Flying Moose’s original location, all of the food is organic and the meats have no nitrates.
The owner said she hopes the café becomes a hub for people to relax during their busy workday.
“I know people don't have a lot of time during the day, so this is a good location that I think people already come to and they can meet at,” said Owner Melanie Poch. “The children are a big part. I like that they now can come after school, have snacks.”
Poch adds they decided to open in the library after many requests from the community. The menu will expand over time to hot sandwiches, smoothies and fresh juice.
Both Flying Moose locations will soon offer glucose-free, spelt and eventually paleo-diet food.
The café is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday.
