Spooktacular festival hosts flash mob street invasion in Manistique
MANISTIQUE, Mich. (WLUC) - Manistique hosted a family friendly event on Friday with Halloween-themed fun and flash mob dancing in the street.
Kim Miercier is the owner of The Hive on Cedar and is one of the participating downtown merchants.
“The whole community, merchants- you see everybody. The theme this year was spooktacular; it’s skeletons. The New Junction has activities going on around the corner with a lot of food trucks, (a) photo booth, it’s just a lot of great things going on,” Miercier said.
The downtown district hosted multiple performances of the Monster Mash by school-aged children along with a New York-inspired flash mob performing Michael Jackson’s ‘Thriller.’
The carnival atmosphere hosted several hundred attendees and culminated with trick-or-treating in the downtown district.
The gathering combined Halloween festivities with a community fundraising effort benefiting the family of former fire chief Brad Benard.
