LAS VEGAS (KVVU/Gray News) — A United Airlines flight headed to Newark, New Jersey, returned to Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas Saturday night after the crew reported a passenger disturbance.

United Flight 1681 to Newark Liberty International Airport returned safely to Las Vegas around 11:05 p.m. after the crew reported the disturbance, described by the airline as “a potential security concern.”

Suspect taken into custody

On Monday, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department confirmed that one person had been taken into custody after making threats of terrorism on the flight.

After the flight returned, officers detained a suspect identified as 25-year-old Dante Milne on terrorism-related charges.

Flight details

The Boeing 737 was carrying 150 passengers and six crew members, with no injuries reported, officials said.

Harry Reid International Airport said the plane turned around shortly after takeoff.

The Federal Aviation Administration said in a preliminary statement the flight returned safely and that the agency will investigate.

United said the flight was delayed overnight due to crew timeout and departed for Newark the following morning.

Court proceedings

Milne has been booked into the Clark County Detention Center. Court records show he has posted bond on his $10,000 bail.

He is due in court on Tuesday.
