NMU’s Harden Hall set to re-open in January
MARQUETTE, Mich. (WLUC) - The library at Northern Michigan University is getting closer to re-opening.
Construction at Harden Hall continues as the new school year begins.
The building is now five floors with the addition of social sciences offices on the top floor.
Renovations will include group study rooms, a podcasting booth and virtual reality booths. The basement floor will house the Public Radio & TV space.
NMU Dean of Library & Instructional Support Leslie Warren says students have missed having a study space the last two years.
“Having their study space equivalent of a lab coat, where they can go and feel studious and smart,” Warren said. “We’re going to bring that back for them with the new space.”
Warren says the current plan is to re-open Harden Hall by the start of second semester in January.
