HOUGHTON, Mich. (WLUC) - MTU students and parents packed the MacInnes Student Ice Arena to celebrate undergraduate Spring Commencement.

On Friday, the graduate students crossed the stage, and on Saturday, it was the undergrads’ turn.

Speakers included Olympian and 2015 MTU graduate Deedra Irwin, master’s student Tabasum Hambard and undergraduate Mary Stevens.

One graduate’s parent watched her second child walk across the MTU stage on Saturday.

“I’m feeling really good, I’m proud and blessed to be here. My son is graduating, He’s the second of our sons to graduate from Michigan Tech. We came from Kentucky, and we’re so glad to be here,” said Jen Arnold right after she watched her son cross the stage. “Very proud, very proud and blessed to be able to be here to see him do that, his future, and whatever it holds, I’m very glad.”
