Anthony Hudson announces campaign for Michigan Governor
MICHIGAN (WLUC) - A Genessee County man has officially announced his candidacy for Governor in the 2026 election.
Anthony Hudson is originally from Texas, though he moved to Michigan in 2012.
Hudson, a Republican, says his campaign has gained traction on social media, particularly for his bold proposal to make Michigan the first state to eliminate property taxes.
“No one should risk losing their home due to unfair taxation,” Hudson said.
His plan involves reallocating wasteful state spending to fully fund local services through county taxes, eliminating the need for state income tax. His campaign says this shift would empower local governments to undertake major projects such as downtown developments, school improvements and infrastructure repairs without burdening homeowners.
Hudson says he is committed to returning power to the people and away from globalists, special interests, and corrupt politicians.
“It’s time to make Michigan great again by giving control back to its citizens,” Hudson said.
Hudson’s says his Michigan First priority mirrors the movement that propelled Trump to victory, aiming to implement Agenda 47 to Make Michigan Great Again by cutting wasteful spending, lowering auto insurance costs, protecting parental rights, restoring natural gas, defending the 2nd Amendment and securing Michigan from illegal immigration and child trafficking.
“When thousands of us come together, we send a powerful message that Michigan belongs to its people,” Hudson said.
