UPHS nurses prepare for the move to the new hospital

Moving day approaches for doctors, nurses, patients, and more at U.P. Health Systems- Marquette.
The old hospital on the campus of Northern Michigan University will soon be empty as operations shift to the brand new hospital on Baraga Ave in Marquette.
Registered Nurse Patience Doherty says she feels prepared for the move. She says staff have undergone extensive training already, like during the "Day in the Life" training last week, but more training will continue in the coming weeks before the grand opening ceremony on April 5.
One of the things Doherty says she's most looking forward to is the better layout of the hospital. She says the old campus was oftentimes difficult to navigate, and the new hospital is easy to get around.
