The Department of Public Health for Delta and Menominee counties offers programs for women ages 40 to 64 to get their yearly health tests and screenings.

The Breast and Cervical Cancer Control and Navigation Program and 'WiseWoman' are available to non-insured and under-insured women if they meet certain income criteria.

Under the program women are able to receive yearly tests and screenings free of charge and WiseWoman offers blood pressure tests and programs throughout the year to promote heart health.

"It's worth taking the time to have these very very important cancer screenings, in this case it's a program we can offer locally to help provide a mammogram, have their cancer screening and also their heart health screening," said Kristi Steger, Health Educator for the Department of Public Health and Program Coordinator for BCCCNP and WiseWoman in Delta and Menominee Counties.

The health departments offer clinics once a month to women.

The next clinic in Menominee is February 7 and Escanaba's Health Department will host their next clinic on February 23.
