‘Electrifying!’: Upper Michigan Today is All Booked UP with Marquette band Addicus and April’s read
Upper Michigan Today Wednesday, April 29.

MARQUETTE, Mich. (WLUC) - Wednesday’s edition of Upper Michigan Today introduced new talent and topics in a familiar form.
It’s another All Booked UP day! Peter White Public Library’s Marty Achatz and Mackenzie Geary joined Audrey Stetson and John Redfield for a conversation on this month’s read: Hemlock by Melissa Faliveno. Hemlock is a fiction novel with elements of horror, addiction, queerness and self-discovery.
Plus, Upper Michigan Today always loves a Concert in the Corner! Marquette pop indie punk band Addicus rocked out the studio with two electrifying original songs.
Watch below to learn more about the band and find out May’s All Booked UP read.
Addicus blends the genres of indie, rock, grunge, pop and punk. Each band member’s style represents their musical taste, merging into one cohesive identity.
Addicus is made up of lead singer/songwriter and guitar player Alexis Armstrong, brothers on guitar and drums Josh Copeman and Isaac Copeman and newest member Nathan Long on the bass.
Since its formation in 2022, Addicus has released three EPs and two albums. You can get a taste for the band’s talents below with a performance of the single “Neat Freak Tendencies,” off the the album “A Story About...” (2025).
For those quieter bookworms, All Booked UP swooped in to go over April’s read. Melissa Faliveno’s Hemlock chronicles a mysterious story about a sober woman who returns to the Northwoods where her mother disappeared.
