Marquette DDA prepares for farmer’s market season
MARQUETTE, Mich. (WLUC) - Farmer’s market season is almost upon us. In preparation for it, the Marquette Downtown Development Authority held its Annual Market Preview today.
The event saw 16 vendors’ tables at the event. Selling a multitude of things from homemade bread, cookies, homegrown vegetables, art and much more.
The event was also a way for attendees to buy their market membership. The Marquette Farmer’s Market season is going to be a planning year. The market leaders are looking for input on what new things people want for their farmers’ markets.
“We are in a planning process for the next few years. We will be doing some surveys throughout the year, some dot surveys that customers can do at the market or surveys online,“ said Marquette DDA Market Manager Brian Shier. ”Just to get their input on what they want to see at the market.”
Marquette will kick off its Saturday market on May 3rd and their Wednesday street market on June 10th.
