UPDATE: Escanaba garbage collection suspended through Tuesday due to projected snowfall

ESCANABA, Mich. (WLUC) - Due to snowfall and ongoing snowdrifts, garbage collection will be delayed until Thursday.
The city of Escanaba announced that the weekly garbage collection schedule has been altered as follows:
- Monday: no garbage collection
- Tuesday: no garbage collection
- Wednesday: Recycling (first and third week)
- Thursday: Monday and Tuesday routes
- Friday: Thursday and Friday routes
To ensure garbage collection continues, the city urges residents to clear snow from around trash cans. Cans that are buried in snow, placed too close to other objects or do not have adequate space around them may not be picked up.
The city urges residents to stay home and travel only if necessary. If you must travel, the city says be patient, use caution and stay safe.
