Upper Michigan woman appears on ‘Wheel of Fortune’
(WLUC) - An Upper Michigan woman won thousands of dollars on Friday’s episode of ‘Wheel of Fortune’ on TV6.
Kiki Maples from Manistique competed on the game show, where contestants guess hidden phrases by guessing letters one at a time. She told host Ryan Seacrest about where she’s from.

“A proud Yooper for those who don’t know,” said Seacrest.
“I’m a troll turned Yooper, so trolls in Michigan are people who are born south of the Mackinac Bridge or downstate,” Maples told him. “Yoopers are born in the Upper Peninsula. So I was born in southern Michigan. Now I live in the U.P.”
“And when you’re there, you’re on the golf course a little bit, right”” asked Seacrest.
“I bartended at a golf course. I sling some drinks,” Maples responded.
“While you’re working?” joked Seacrest.
“Well, no. I sling them for others,” she replied.
Maples wasn’t the big winner, but she did get a $7,150 prize. Congratulations!
