KING OF PRUSSIA, Pa. (Gray News) – A Chick-fil-A customer in Pennsylvania is outraged after she said she was charged for a to-go bag.

In a TikTok video posted last week, the woman showed a screenshot of her receipt from Chick-fil-A’s app.

The receipt shows a 10-cent charge for “1x Bag Fee.”

“What’s next? Are you gonna charge me for the French fry container? You gonna charge me for the potatoes? You gonna charge me to park in your parking lot? Like what’s next?” she said in the video.

However, the woman ordered from a Chick-fil-A in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, where a local law requires businesses to charge for single-use carryout bags.

According to the law, which took effect on Jan. 1 of this year, single-use plastic bags are prohibited. However, businesses must charge customers at least 10 cents to provide paper bags.

“The business can offer a compliant bag ... but must charge a fee of at least $0.10 per bag and the fee must be shown on the customer’s receipt,” the law states.

Businesses keep the 10 cent fee.

“The purpose of the fee is two-fold: first, to offset any added costs from switching to a more sustainable bag; and second, to encourage customers to bring their own bag or skip an unnecessary one,” the law states.

The woman urged other customers to “start looking at your receipts. Try and see if you’re getting charged for your bags.”

“Count your days Chick-fil-A, I am so over it,” she said.
