Meet the Candidates

The two women vying to be the state’s next leader have different ideas on how to move Michigan forward.

This week on The Ryan Report, Don speaks with candidates Chris Lopez, a Democrat and combat veteran from Escanaba, and Dave Prestin, an active first responder and Republican from Cedar River.

As school board elections are quickly approaching for Marquette Area Public Schools, four of the five running for its school board answered questions at a community forum Thursday evening.

DePerno was endorsed by former President Donald Trump. He is running against the current Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel, who is on her first term.

In 2016 she founded Fair Michigan, which is a nonprofit organization that works to prosecute hate crimes against the LGBTQ.

She was elected in 2018 as the 43rd SOS and the first democrat to hold the position of Secretary of State since 1995.

Tudor entered the race for governor in 2021 and was endorsed by former President Donald Trump during the 2022 primary election.

She is currently on her first term as governor and is up for re-election in 2022 against GOP Gubernatorial candidate Tufor Dixon.

She is running against the current Michigan Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson, who is on her first term.
