A nationwide effort to count local homeless populations known as the Point in Time Count is underway. It is meant to give the U.S. Department of Housing and Rural Development a count of all the people experiencing homelessness at one time throughout the United States. Homeless shelters in Marquette County have come together to complete this process.

After a slow holiday season, Roam Inn in Munising has seen a big increase in winter tourism since the start of the year. Owner Tom Dolaskie credits this to the strong winter weather in the area which many have used to snowmobile, ice climb, cross country ski, fat-tire bike, and sightsee.
Lake Superior Ice Caves Tours is offering a land-based sled ride until the end of winter. The rides last around two hours, where up to four guests are pulled behind a snowmobile in a sled with seats. The ride visits Miners Falls and Miners Castle Overlook.
