The non-profit based in Suttons Bay, MI provides educational programming to individuals, schools, and other groups looking for an immersive experience on the Great Lakes. The schooner, fittingly named Inland Seas, will be in the U.P. until August 7th, however its programs are booked up already. Fred Sitkins, the executive director of the program, says to watch out for the 77-foot sail boat next summer because the ISEA is looking to make a comeback with more public programs.
Proceeds from the Queen City Half Marathon will go to the Marquette Senior High School track and field and cross country teams, as well as JJ Packs, a non-profit organization that feeds children in need.
