WLUC-TV6 & FOX UP is looking for a full-time Bureau Reporter/Multi-Media Journalist (MMJ).

WLUC has been a fixture in Upper Michigan for over 60 years. The #1 rated WLUC is the market leader and an NBC affiliate. The younger FOX UP News is #2 in this competitive six station market.

This Bureau position is in Iron Mountain, Michigan. You’ll be living in the Iron Mountain or Kingsford area and working out of an office in the community. The two communities are on the Michigan-Wisconsin border, about a 100 miles from Green Bay, Wisconsin. They offer a diverse and culturally exciting environment year round. The U.P. is a recreational paradise. Winter, summer, spring or fall, if you enjoy the outdoors, this is the place for you. The small town setting is peaceful and safe, but still offers first class entertainment and dining experiences. The people of Upper Michigan make this area stand out with their friendly, helpful, honest and fun approach to life.

Job Summary:
A Multi-Media Journalist must be versatile, requiring strong storytelling. You’ll enterprise stories reporting from the field and working out of our Bureau in Iron Mountain. You are writing, editing and producing stories from idea to on-air. You’ll also be doing LIVE shots from field locations. We’re looking for those individuals able to think outside the box, finding stories that stand out in the market, leaving a lasting impression with the viewer. The right person is creative, contributes story ideas and develops contacts. Social media is a big part of our news coverage. You're responsible for writing and posting stories to the TV6 and FOX UP Website, Facebook, Twitter and other station related platforms. Community involvement is a must.

Knowledge of video editing
Must meet deadlines and be able to multi-task

Social Media involvement and knowledge
Professional appearance

Must have a valid driver’s license
Pass a pre-employment drug screening.
A command of the English language, spelling and grammar are required.
Personal appearances in the community and station functions is an important part of the job
