Track & Field Sets School Record and Honors Seniors at Northern Challenge

Northern Michigan University's Track and Field team honored their seniors and posted a school record as they hosted the Northern Challenge Saturday afternoon.

HONORING THE SENIORS

During the meet, the team honored their seniors. Megan Bauer (Anchorage, Alaska), Paige Du Bois (Green Bay, Wis.), Victoria Harris (Iron River, Mich.), Katelyn Smith (Gaylord, Mich.), Hanna Torvi (St. Paul, Minn.) Megan Martin (Hillsdale, Mich.) and Sydney McPeters (Sugarland, Texas) were honored for their careers helping the NMU Track & Field team.

GO THE DISTANCE

The meet was highlighted early with the 4x200m Relay team set a new school record. Junior Izabelle Peterson (Marquette, Mich.), junior Lauren Alarie (Highland, Mich.), Maria de Mingo Domenech (Barcelona, Spain) and Martin finished the race in a new record time of 1:45.03.

IN THE FIELD

The Wildcats won 15 of 16 races on the women's side of the meet. The Copper Country Track Club also competed in the meet.

UP NEXT

The team heads to University Center, Michigan to compete in the Jet's Pizza Invite hosted by Saginaw Valley State University on January 24 and 25.
