A CCM/AHCA Second-Team All-American as a sophomore, Beaulieu has continued his success in leading the Wildcats back into the national spotlight. His 42 points in 2017-18 led NCAA defensemen outright while his 11 goals was tied for third among all collegiate defensemen. Beaulieu was also named Second-Team All-WCHA for his efforts before earning first-team honors the following season. Tallying another 35 points during the 2018-19 campaign, Beaulieu was named WCHA Defensive Player of the Year at the conclusion of the season as well as First-Team All-WCHA. His point total ranked second on the team while his 29 assists was a team best. His offensive-defenseman style of play continued into the 2019-20 as the captain has highlighted the box score in 14 games, including two of his three goals coming as game-winners and another three assists added on deciding goals.
After recording six points off five goals and an assist during his rookie season, de Mey kicked off his sophomore year with a bang. Named Forward of the Month by the WCHA at the end of October, de Mey has gone on to post 12 goals and 9 assists for the second-best point total on the team (21). He opened the season on a six-game point-streak (6-2-8), including at least one goal in each of his first four games. After a brief scoring drought to close out 2019, de Mey bounced back to tally his first career hat trick while lifting his team to a 6-3 victory over Alaska Anchorage last weekend. He has been named WCHA Forward of the Week on four occasions this season and ranks among the best in the nation in multiple categories. De Mey currently sits tied with Loughran nationally in power play goals (five) and ninth overall.
Another sophomore, Loughran is on pace to cement his name in the NMU record books with a nation's best 17 goals so far this season. With 28 points off 17 goals and 11 assists, he leads the team in points, well surpassing his season total from 2018-19 when he posted seven goals and 11 assists for 18 points, leading all Wildcat rookies in the process. Named Forward of the Week by the WCHA following a hat trick performance at Ferris State, Loughran ranks near the top of the nation in multiple categories. Along with the top spot in goals, he is second nationally in goals per game (0.77), just six one-hundredths shy of the nation's leader. He is also tied for ninth in the country in power play goals (five) along with de Mey while his three game-winning goals ranks eighth.
