COLUMBUS, OHIO (WLUC) - Ohio State University says football coach Urban Meyer will retire after the Rose Bowl.
OSU sent the announcement in a release Tuesday morning.
Meyer will use a press conference Tuesday afternoon to formally announce his retirement from coaching following Ohio State’s appearance in the Rose Bowl Game. OSU will name offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Ryan Day as the 25th head coach in the history of the program, beginning Jan. 2.
Meyer has been the head coach at OSU since the 2012 season.
He was suspended for the first three games of the 2018 season after reports surfaced that he knew about spousal abuse allegations against assistant coach Zach Smith prior to Smith's firing the week prior.
