NMU's Sarah Kuehn Named GLIAC North Player of the Week

BAY CITY, Mich. (WLUC) – Northern Michigan University Volleyball's senior Sarah Kuehn (Green Bay, Wis.) was named the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference North Player of the Week.

Kuehn led the Wildcats with 24 kills over the weekend, averaging 3.43 kills per set. Kuehn notched 13 kills at Purdue University Northwest and 11 kills at the University of Wisconsin Parkside. The senior was on target all weekend as she finished with just one error on a total of 38 attempts and hit at a .605 clip.

Defensively, she tallied seven digs from her middle blocker position and added four blocks across two matches. Kuehn is now third in the GLIAC with 77 blocks this season and is ranked seventh in school history with 331 total blocks in her career.

For the weekend, she averaged just shy of four points per set, 3.9, through the weekend's seven sets.

The Wildcats finished the weekend 2-0, defeating PNW 3-1 Friday night and then swept Parkside 3-0 Saturday afternoon. The team is now 6-5 and tied for fifth in the GLIAC standings with five matches left.

NMU returns to action on Saturday as they will take on rival Michigan Technological University on Saturday, November 2 at 4 p.m. in Vandament Arena.
