NMU releases Golf Schedule for 2019-2020

MARQUETTE, Mi. The Northern Michigan University Women's Golf team has posted their 2019-2020 schedule and sees the Wildcats compete in 10 events in six different states.

The season begins the the team heading to the Bay City Golf Course in Bay City, Michigan to compete in the Saginaw Valley State University Invitational September 14-15. The month of September finishes with the team at the Lady Bulldog Invitational, hosted by Ferris State University, September 28-29 in Big Rapids, Michigan at the Katke Golf Course.

In October, NMU travels to Findlay, Ohio to play in the Beall Fall Classic, played on the Findlay Country Club October 6-7. The first half of the season finishes with the Kohler Classic, hosted at the Irish Course in Sheboygan, Wisconsin October 21-22.

The spring portion of the season tees off March 4-6 at the Saddlebrook Spring Kickoff, played at the Saddlebrook Country Club in Tampa, Florida. On April 14-15, the squad visits Georgetown, Kentucky to play at the Cherry Blossom Golf Club for the SVSU Spring Invitational.

April sees the team compete in the NC4K Invitational on April 6-7. The event is hosted at the Jefferson Country Club in Blacklick, Ohio. NMU then heads to Canton, Ohio and the Glenmoor Country Club to take part in the Walsh Invitational April 11-12.

The regular season concludes with the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championships April 17-19 in Augusta, Michigan, played at the Gull Lake View Golf Club.

The Wildcats are coming off their third-straight NCAA Regional appearance and will be led by rising senior Caro Els (Swakopmund, Namibia), who became the first player in program history to reach the NCAA National Championships and was a First Team All-GLIAC performer last season.

The Men's Golf team for Northern Michigan University has made their 2019-20 season schedule available which one event in the U.P. and a total of nine competitions.

The season tees off with the Island Resort Collegiate Open and is hosted by South Dakota State University. Taking place at the Sweetgrass Golf Course in Harris, Michigan, the Island Resort Collegiate Open takes place September 7-8. The Wildcats then take part in Findlay University's Doc Spragg Invitational September 28-29. The invite is played at the Findlay Country Club.

In October, NMU opens the month at the Midland Country Club on October 6-7 to compete in the Northwood Invitational. Later that month, on October 21-22, the Wildcats head to Sheboygan, Wisconsin to compete at Whistling Straights Golf Course for the Kohler Classic to complete the first half of the season.

The spring portion of the schedule begins March 4-6 in Tampa, Florida for the Saddlebrook Spring Kickoff at the Saddlebrook Country Club.

NMU will then compete in Kentucky for two events. On March 14-15, the team heads to Kearney Hills Golf Links in Georgetown, Kentucky for the Saginaw Valley State University Spring Invitational. They then go to Lexington, Kentucky for the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference South Invitational to play on the University Club of Kentucky.

April sees the Wildcats compete at the Purgatory Golf Course in Noblesville, Indiana for the Purgatory Invitational on April 5-6. The regular season comes to a close April 17-19 for the GLIAC Championships played in Augusta, Michigan at the Gull Lake View Golf Club.

NMU returns five student-athletes from this past season and will look to grow on the improvements they made this past season.
