Men's Golf Places Two in Top Ten at GLIAC Championship

BATTLE CREEK, Mich. (WLUC) – The Men's Golf team for Northern Michigan University placed two in the top ten at the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championships this weekend.

Senior Austin Elsner (New London, Wis.) led the team with rounds of 72 and 71 for a total 143 and a third place finish.

Senior Owen Beyer (DeWitt, Mich.) tied for tenth place with a final score of 149 after he posted rounds of 73 and 76.

Tied for 27th place, junior Kurtis Fontinha (Penticton, B.C.) shot 78 in both rounds to finish with a final tally of 156.

Junior Chris Black (Lisburn, Northern Ireland) came in at 160 for the weekend after back-to-back rounds of 80 to finish tied for 39th.

Senor Logan Haight (Ostego, Mich.) rounded out the field for NMU with a score of 168 after he shot 84 both days. He finished 52nd.
