Isaiah Johnson Earns GLIAC Player of the Week Honors Again

BAY CITY, Mich. -- Senior Isaiah Johnson (Whitefish Bay, Wis.) was named the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference North Player of the Week for the second time this season.

Johnson averaged 22 points and 4.5 rebounds per game to help lead Northern Michigan to an 89-74 victory over Ohio Dominican University Tuesday and an 80-68 win at Hillsdale College Wednesday in the Hillsdale Thanksgiving Classic. He shot 75% from the field, going 15-of-20, and 50% from the three-point line (3-of-6). He also finished 11-of-12 at the free throw line. The senior added three assists and a steal to his achievements as well.

For the season, Johnson is averaging 23.8 points on 62.1% shooting, hitting 56% from three. He is also shooting 88.1% from the free throw line. He is second on the team with 5.4 rebounds this season and has also notched four steals and a block while dishing out nine assists.

Johnson has helped guide the team to a 5-0 start, their best start since the 1984-85 season. The Wildcats will open GLIAC play this week by heading to Northwood University Thursday night and Saginaw Valley State University Saturday. The open the home conference schedule with Purdue University Northwest Thursday, December 6.
