HANCOCK, Mi. Freshman Katie Lundeen has been named ACAA Women’s Basketball Rookie of the Year, as released by the league office. Members of the ACAA are Alfred State, Finlandia, Mills, Mount Mary, Pine Manor, Pratt, SUNY Delhi, Thomas More and Valley Forge.

Lundeen was also named to the All-ACAA first team. She is the first Lion basketball player, male or female to receive an individual award.

“I’m extremely happy for Katie to receive these two awards,” said head coach Marian LaPoint-Dunham. “She has definitely earned both with her hard work and determination to get better. Being an undersized post; she has to outwork her competition every night. She does it all, on and off the court and there is no other person that is more deserving.”

Lundeen averaged 12.8 points and 6.7 rebounds while shooting 77.8% from the line. She had 14 double-digit scoring games with seven double-digit rebounding performances. Lundeen had five double-doubles and is second in the ACAA in free throw percentage.
