Finlandia Women stung by Baldwin Wallace

HOLLAND, Mi. The Finlandia University women’s basketball team (0-11) lost 73-42 to #19 Baldwin Wallace (9-1), Saturday afternoon at DeVos Fieldhouse. It was day two of the Hope Post-Exam Jam.

Freshman Harlee Froberg drove the lane and scored to put Finlandia up 2-0 at the 8:54 mark. For the last six minutes of the first period Baldwin Wallace had a lead of five to seven points.

Froberg tossed one in from Canada to close the gap to five with 2:21 left in the first. In the second period, the Yellowjackets reeled off 15 straight points to effectively end the contest.

For Finlandia, Froberg had 19 points and two steals and was selected to the all-tournament team. Freshman Katie Lundeen had 12 points and was 6-of-6 from the line.

For Baldwin Wallace, Mary Schentur had 15 points and Rachel Womeldorf scored 13.

Finlandia returns to Paavo Nurmi, Wednesday, Dec. 19, taking on Lakeland. The game is scheduled to start at 5:30 p.m.
