Finlandia Volleyball Closes Out Road Trip

ST. PAUL, Minn. (WLUC) – The Finlandia University volleyball team (0-23) lost twice, Saturday afternoon at Hutton Arena.

UW-River Falls (16-12) 3-0 (25-8, 25-6, 25-10)
In the first set, Finlandia battled with UW-River Falls. Sophomore Taylor Talerico went sky high to close the gap to 10-7. The Falcons scored 10 straight to take control.

In the second set, UWRF opened with an 11-4 run and was never headed.

In the third set, freshman Ella Lindgren knocked one down to tie the match at 2-2. 11 straight points by UW-River Falls put the match away.

Hamline (12-9) 3-0 (25-5, 25-9, 25-9)
In the first set, Hamline scored the first 13 points to end it early.

In the second set, a kill from freshman Taylor Hendrick closed the gap to 5-4. The Pipers went on a 6-0 run to take control.

In the third set, Hendrick found the back corner to pull the Lions to two, 7-5. A 9-0 run closed out the day.

For Finlandia, Talerico had two aces and 12 digs while Hendrick had nine digs.

Finlandia hits the road, Friday, Oct. 25, taking on Holy Family and Dayspring Bible. The matches are schedule to start at 5:15 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. CST, respectively.
