Finlandia Men's Soccer Doesn’t Back Down From Warhawks

ST. BONIFACIUS, Minn. (WLUC) – The Finlandia University men’s soccer team (4-12-1) gave no quarter in a 7-2 loss to UW-Whitewater (15-4-1) in the ACAA Championship Semi-Finals, Saturday afternoon at Panther Field.

UW-Whitewater got the first tally at the 15:27 mark. With just over seven minutes to play, freshman Maxx Knisley scored on a pass from freshman Chelan Gonzalez. That made it 1-1.

The Warhawks would score at the 39:36 mark to go up 2-1. For the next 20 minutes, the Lions went toe-to-toe with UWW. With 30 minutes to go, UW-Whitewater scored four goals in an eight minute span to pull away.

FinnU’s other goal came from freshman Akwasi Kwarteng with the assist by freshman Matt Williams. Sophomore Noah Raisanen had 22 saves.

Finlandia has concluded the 2019 season.
