Finlandia Men's Basketball can't contain Lawrence Tech

SOUTHFIELD, Mi. Four players scored in double figures as the Finlandia University men’s basketball team (0-15) fell 100-77 to Lawrence Tech (10-12), Friday night at Don Ridler Field House.

Finlandia slugged it out with Lawrence Tech for the first five minutes of the game. Senior Austin Carlson drove the lane and scored. That made it 10-8, Blue Devils with 15:26 to go.

LTU pushed the lead to 10 at the 11:55 mark. Carlson took over scoring five straight points to make it 24-19 with 9:22 to go. Lawrence Tech scored nine straight points and didn’t look back.

The Lions were on fire in the second half shooting 57.7% from the floor and 42.9% from behind the arc.

For Finlandia, sophomore Tyler Browner scored 21 points and Carlson had 17 points, 11 rebounds and blocked two shots. Sophomore Dylan Underwood had 16 points, five assists and five steals while freshman Jaden Janke scored 12 points.

For Lawrence Tech, Devonte Myles scored 22 points and Ty Searles had 19 points.

Finlandia stays on the road, Saturday, Jan. 26 playing Rochester College. The game is scheduled to start at 2:00 p.m.
