Finlandia Men's Basketball Gives Blue Devils Their Dues

HANCOCK, Mich. (WLUC) – Freshman Kaleb Kirksey recorded a double-double as the Finlandia University men’s basketball team (0-8) fell 111-73 to UW-Stout (2-2), Sunday afternoon at the Paavo Nurmi Center.

Finlandia took it to UW-Stout from the start of the game. Freshman Devin Moultrie knocked down a 3-pointer to put the Lions up by one at 16:05 mark.

Sophomore Joe Heinonen rattled in a triple to make it 12-8, FinnU with 15:24 to go. The Blue Devils scored 22 straight to seal the game.

The Lions held Stout to just 25 % shooting from behind the arc for the game. FinnU hit 42.3% of their 3-pointers.

For Finlandia, Moultrie had 16 points, Heinonen scored 15 and Kirksey had 11 points and 10 rebounds.

For UW-Stout, Cliff McCray scored 19.

Finlandia remains home, Tuesday, Nov. 26, hosting St. Scholastica. The game is scheduled to start at 5:00 p.m.
