Finlandia Men can't slow down Flying Dutch

ORLANDO, Fl. The Finlandia University men’s basketball team (0-11) lost 103-66 to Hope (5-3), Tuesday night at the RDV Sportsplex.

“We have to be more consistent and value the little things in life,” said head coach Sam Casey. “If you can’t do the little things right, you’ll never be able to do the big things. We have big plans, so it’s time to grow up and be consistent in everything we do.”

For the first four minutes, Finlandia stayed on the heels of Hope. Freshman Kaleb Kirksey rained in a triple to cut the gap to 8-4 with 16 minutes to go. The Flying Dutchmen scored 15 straight to seal the game.

The Lions did a strong job on rebounds, pulling down 30 defensive to just nine offensive for the Flying Dutchmen.

For Finlandia, junior Dylan Underwood had 15 points and shot 6-of-11 from the floor while freshman Dylan Moultrie had nine points and two steals.

For Hope, Clayton Dykhouse scored 20 points.

Finlandia stays in Florida, Thursday, Dec. 19 playing Carleton. The game is scheduled to start at 7:00 p.m.
