KALAMAZOO, Mi. Freshman Christian Creten had a strong performance as the Finlandia University football team (0-5, 0-2 MIAA) lost 44-0 to Kalamazoo College (2-3, 1-1 MIAA), Saturday afternoon at Angell Field.

In the first quarter, Finlandia frustrated Kalamazoo College on the defensive end. The Hornets could just managed a field goal and a score off a blocked punt. Kzoo scored twice in the second quarter to pull away.

Offensively, freshman Bailey Harris had another strong week picking up 46 yards on the ground. Sophomore Kenny Kujawa moved into the top three career in receptions and yards.

Defensively, FinnU (#1 in passing defense in NCAA D3 – 67.4 yards per game) gave up just 70 yards in the air. Creten had 17 tackles with 2.5 for a loss to lead the defense. Freshman Austin Cover and Kujawa had eight tackles each.

Finlandia returns home, Saturday, October 19 taking on Hope. The game is scheduled to start at noon.
