OSHKOSH, Wi. The Finlandia University women’s basketball team (0-9) fell 70-27 to #25 UW-Oshkosh (6-0), Tuesday night at the Kolf Sports Center.
For most of the first nine minutes, Finlandia was seven point or less behind UW-Oshkosh. Junior Taylor Pertile hit a layup at the 1:35 mark that closed the gap to seven points. Over the next seven minutes, the Titans went on a 17-4 run to seal the game.
The Lions pulled down 22 defensive rebounds to seven offensive for the Knights. This is the sixth straight game that FinnU has had at least a 2-1 margin.
For Finlandia, freshman Katie Lundeen had 10 points and pulled down five defensive rebounds. Freshman Tierra Taylor led the squad with seven rebounds.
For UW-Oshkosh, Leah Porath scored 10 points.
Finlandia is off until Friday, Dec. 14 when they travel downstate to take on Hope. The game is scheduled to start at 7:00 p.m.

UW-Oshkosh started off by scoring the first 10 points of the game. Sophomore Dylan Underwood hit an outer space trey to cut the margin to nine with 14:33 to go in the first half. UWO went on a 14-2 run over the next six minutes to seal the game.
The Lions pulled down 30 defensive boards while holding Oshkosh to just nine offensive board. FinnU shut the Titans down on 3-pointers in the second half allowing them to hit just 26.3 percent.
For Finlandia, Underwood scored 21 points with five triples and freshman Jaden Janke had 11 points and blocked three shots. Senior Austin Carlson led both teams in rebounding with 11.
For UW-Oshkosh, Ben Boots had 18 points and Jack Flynn scored 14 points.
Finlandia hosts UW-Stout, Friday, Dec. 14. The game is scheduled to start at 5:00 p.m.
