KOHLER, Wis. (WLUC) – Northern Michigan University Women's Golf saw senior Caro Els (Swakopmund, Namibia) finished second overall as the Wildcats took third in the fall season's final event, the Kohler Classic, played on the Whistling Straights Golf Course in Kohler, Wisconsin.
Els finished in a tie for second place with a total of 164. The senior shot an 84 first round then returned for day two by shooting a 79.
In 10th place was sophomore Gianna Gastrow (Hartland, Wis.), shooting rounds of 88 and 82 for a final of 170. Close behind was sophomore Abigail Boozer (Brea, Calif.), who's final score of 173 placed her 13th. Boozer posted scores of 94 and 79.
Rounding out the Wildcats squad were freshman Taylor Hakala (Milton, Wis.) and Tiffany Elo (Manistee, Mich.). Hakala finished in 16th place while Elo placed 25th.
NMU faced rain and high winds on the first day, with winds reaching as high as 35 miles per hour.
The Wildcats conclude their fall season and will return to action in March when they head to the Saddlebrook Country Club in Tampa, Florida for the Saddlebrook Spring Kickoff March 4-6.
