Albion dashes past Finlandia Women's Basketball

ALBION, Mi. The Finlandia University women’s basketball team (5-16) lost 86-43 to Albion (15-4), Friday night at Kresge Gymnasium.

The game was dead even for the first four minutes. Freshman Harlee Froberg hit a free throw to put Finlandia up 5-4 at the 6:08 mark. Albion scored 17 straight points to effectively put the game out of reach.

The Lions pulled down 22 defensive rebounds to eight offensive boards for the Britons. FinnU forced 20 turnovers with 10 steals.

For Finlandia, freshman Katie Lundeen had 18 points while shooting 8-of-10 from the line. Freshman Mariah Austin and Froberg had eight points each.

For Albion, Jami Hubbard had 13 points and Rain Hinton scored 12.

Finlandia returns home, Wednesday, Jan. 30 playing Northland College. The game is scheduled to start at 5:30 p.m.
