'Zero Suicide' presentation open to public May 8 in Marquette

MARQUETTE, Mich. (WLUC) - A Zero Suicide Model Presentation, by Dr. Brian Ahmedani, is scheduled at St. Peter Cathedral at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 8.

The goal of the free, public presentation is to explain evidence-based approaches to providing optimal suicide prevention for depressed patients and discuss opportunities for optimization of local suicide prevention practices.

Dr. Ahmedani currently serves as Director, Center for Health Policy & Health Services Research, and Director of Research in the Department of Psychiatry, at Henry Ford Health System.

Participants in the May 8 event will learn about Henry Ford’s Zero Suicide Model, as well as the research evidence, clinical significance, and patient preferences for optimal suicide prevention activities, while contributing to interactive discussion on barriers and strengths to implementation.
