IRON COUNTY, Mich. (WLUC) - The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) is investing $274,000 to repair the US-2 bridge over the south branch of the Iron River west of the city of Iron River.
The project, which begins Tuesday, April 16, includes railing and guardrail repairs and construction of new concrete slab approaches to the bridge.
This project will extend the service life of the bridge. Replacing guardrails and railings will improve safety on the bridge. New approach slabs will provide a smoother ride.
One lane of alternating traffic will be maintained with temporary traffic signals.
The estimated completion date for the work is Friday, August 30.
