Wolf's Head Theater Company performs 'Quills'

MARQUETTE, Mich. (WLUC) - The Wolf's Head Theater Company performed 'Quills' by Doug Wright at the Ore Dock Brewing Company in Marquette Sunday.

The two-act play which includes adult themes and nudity was a fictional depiction an insane asylum circa late 18th century France.

The Marquis de Sade has been imprisoned by the King of England for his vulgar writings.

Throughout the play, his care-takers engage in a debate regarding the morality of his treatment at the asylum.

Artistic Director, Jamie Weeder says the experience will ‘bake your noodle but in the good ways.’

“We as a theater company like to challenge our audience to experience a think about new things and then engage in debate afterward if need be. We’re going to have talk-back sessions at the end of every one of our performances so that we can unpack what we just experienced and talk about it audience member to audience member, company member creative team and actors. They’re all going to be a part of it,” Weeder announced.

This play is only for audience members 18 years of age and older. No one under 18 years old will be admitted.

Five more performances are scheduled for the Ore Dock through the rest of the month. Tickets can be purchased in advance here.
