Following the winter break, students are back at Northern Michigan University this week for the Winter Semester.

Enrollment at the University is up, seeing an increase of almost 200 students when compared to the winter semester last year.

New this semester is the NMU Snow Trail. It’s a groomed trail for skiers, hikers and bikers that connects campus to Tourist Park and connected trails.

NMU has also created a permanent 24 hour study area in the lower level of Harden Hall library building.

“We’re here back at NMU for the Winter Semester 2020. It’s always an exciting time when a new semester starts. Classes started up on Monday and so students are back figuring out where their classes are, their schedules, their new faculty, all those things, and it’s great to have them back,” said Derek Hall, NMU Spokesperson.

Classes will take place from now until April 25, with exams happening the following week before commencement on May 2.
