MARQUETTE, Mich. (WLUC) - The twelve annual Winter Outback Sale wrapped up Saturday.
The two-day event features 20 local vendors, artists and artisans.
Shoppers can find a host of handmade, unique items from artwork to zucchini bread, wreaths and more.
Organizer, Cindy Engle says the relaxed atmosphere at the Masonic Center allows shoppers and vendors to visit with each other at a more leisurely pace unlike at the big box stores.
She says shopping local allows you to find that perfect U.P. themed gift and helps support local commerce.
“Supporting local art, supporting local music, supporting locals period, supporting small businesses is so important. We're all here just trying to stay here because we need our friends and families to remember to shop with us instead of hitting the big box stores all the time,” Engle announced.
The last Saturday before Christmas sale will be held December, 21st in the lower level of the Masonic Center featuring many of the same artists.
