Western UP schools to get VR kits

HANCOCK, Mich. (WLUC) - Regional Educational Media Center will soon provide virtual reality kits to western U.P. schools.

REMC1 will provide one kit each to both Copper Country ISD and Gogebic/Ontonagon ISD. The virtual reality kits give access to thousands of scenes through Google Expedition. These scenes can be used across all classroom subjects.

"It is a great opportunity for our students to get more engaged with their lessons. Why talk to your students about seeing Mount Rushmore, when you can show them Mount Rushmore. We have a lot of great lessons that go along with the devices that we are providing," said REMC1 educational technologist Steve Kass.

The kits will be made available beginning in February and March.
