CHAMPION, Mich. (WLUC) - On Saturday, the Michigan and Michigan State Football teams went head to head. As both teams were getting ready for kickoff, local bars and restaurants were preparing for fans to take in the big game.

Wawonowin Country Club held a watch party for the big game. Specials on drinks and food items were available for those in attendance.

Once the golf course is closed for the season, it’s not common for the Club to be open on Saturday. Today however, they wanted to provide a place for fans of both teams to watch the game.

“Here at Wawonowin, we like to do a lot of events, especially on Saturdays. So today, we are here for a football watch party with the University of Michigan and Michigan State, so it’s quite the rivalry, and it should be a fun day,” said Lindsay Gross, Bartender at Wawonowin Country Club.

Today’s game was held at Michigan Stadium in Ann Arbor. This was the 112th meeting of the two teams. Michigan would go on to win the game 44-10.
