Volunteers help remove snow from Calumet's Aggasiz Field to prepare for their playoff football game
Calumet high school's big playoff football game against Menominee is tomorrow. The school worked hard Friday to clear their field of snow.
Calumet received about a foot this week. They've had some issues keeping up with snow removal on Agassiz field. Thursday they put out a request for volunteers to help remove snow from the bleachers and the surrounding area.
At one Friday afternoon, people from the community came armed with shovels to get the field ready for the big game.
"Again it's just another example of why this is such a great community and the support we have. We commented earlier about the support we had just to get the new field, and now they're out here helping us take care of it, clear it, and make sure it's ready for a home game," said Chris Davidson, Superintendent of the CLK School District.
The Calumet Copper Kings take the field against the Menominee Maroons for their district playoff game tomorrow at 1 p.m.
