Vehicle fire quickly contained in Wells Township

Escanaba Public Safety was dispatched to a vehicle fire in Wells Township on Tuesday.

According to public safety, officers arrived on scene on U.S. 2 and U.S. 41 and found that a tractor trailer loaded with garbage had caught fire. Officials located the fire and quickly extinguished it. Traffic was stopped for approximately 20 minutes while officials battled the fire.

No injuries were reported. Escanaba Public Safety was assisted on the scene by the Michigan State Police.
