UPDATE: Two rescued from vehicle that broke through ice on Huron Bay

BARAGA, Mich. (WLUC) - UPDATE: Wednesday, February 14th, 3:49 P.M:

Deputies from the Baraga's County Sheriff's Office and Michigan State Police Troopers responded to Witz's Marina for a vehicle through the ice with two people in the vehicle.

A Geo Tracker was located approximately 1.5 miles north of Witz's Marina in Arvon Township.

Clyde Selden and Sylvia Froschin, along with a dog, were rescued from the ice. Neither was injured.

The vehicle is still slowly sinking into the bay and is unable to be retrieved.

One First Responder was injured while assisting and was taken to Baraga County Memorial Hospital by Bay Ambulance.
A vehicle broke through ice in Huron Bay, Baraga County Wednesday afternoon.

Around noon Baraga County Sheriff got a call of a SUV that had fallen through the ice in Huron Bay; more than 1,000 feet off shore.

No injuries have been reported at this time.

Crews are still on scene working to get the vehicle back on the ice. It is not fully submerged at this time.
