NEGAUNEE, Mich. (WLUC) - The Upward Talent Council is now offering the Business Resource Network to U.P. employers to help employees overcome barriers to work and to better companies and communities.
Jim Huff, the Business Resource Manager with Upward Talent Council, says the BRN is two-fold. First, a success coach comes to the company to talk with all of its employees to learn about what barriers each employee may have to work, such as childcare, eldercare, financial planning, medical issues, etc, as well as find ways to mitigate them. Second, businesses become part of a collaborative that meets regularly to discuss best practices, business challenges and opportunities, and ways to improve the community.
Huff explains that this program has been used in Lower Michigan in the past, and this is the first time it's been used in the U.P.
