MARQUETTE, Mich. (WLUC) - Community foundations from all over the Upper Peninsula met Tuesday to discuss how they can better serve their communities.
Every year the Council of Michigan Foundations sponsors a meeting of local community foundations so that they can network and share resources. They also teach each other the correct tools to do their jobs well.
Foundations from every corner of the Upper Peninsula were present at the meeting, and they have plenty of experience working with each other.
“We've been able to work on some really good projects,” said Gail Anthony, CEO of the Community Foundation of Marquette County. “We have a clean energy initiative that was sponsored by CS Mott. We're also working on the Great Lakes One Water Program collectively.”
The foundations also received a special presentation on the importance of cybersecurity.
